Postdoctoral scientist contributing to several projects in coherent control. Dr. Cardoza left PULSE in
May 2008, and is currently a Member of the Technical Staff at the Aerospace Corporation.
Dr. Cardoza’s research interests lie in controlling quantum mechanical dynamics using shaped ultrafast
laser pulses. Skills include knowledge and implementation of ultrafast pulse shaping techniques,
application of learning algorithms to quantum control experiments, nonlinear optical techniques, gas and
condensed phase time resolved spectroscopy and time-of-flight ion spectroscopy. He is now studying
the effects of nonlinear processes and ultrafast phenomena in a variety of photonics devices.
