and E.4. - Coherent Imaging of Non-Periodic Structure (Hajdu).

Bioinorganic chemistry and structural biology. Particular methodology areas of current interest include x-ray absorption edge and EXAFS spectroscopy, reaction intermediates and radiation induced damage and methods and approaches to x-ray imaging from non-periodic, nano-structured materials (including bioassemblies). Specific systems of current interest include iron and copper containing electron transfer proteins and enzymes, Mo/Fe proteins involved in nitrogen fixation and iron-containing enzymes involved in activation and reaction of dioxygen with organic substrates. Interested in the utilization of short pulse, high brightness coherent x-rays in structural and dynamics studies in biological systems.
