Theory, generation of harmonics and attosecond pulses
AMO theory, in particular ultrafast strong field atomic physics and extreme non-linear optics. I study the generation and propagation of high order harmonics and attosecond pulses in macroscopic media and the interplay between the strong field atomic physics at the microscopic level and phase matching and non-linear optics at the macroscopic level. I am also interested in filamentation and self-compression of ultrafast laser pulses.
